Hi, I recently took on the role as the lead singer for U.P. and I have to say that I'm worried about my rhythm guitarist (gio). There's a psychological term called "projection" it's defined as "a defense mechanism by which people disguise their own threatening impulses by attributing them to others", it is my conclusion that the subject at hand (gio) is taking his homosexual impulses out on me, the new guy. I would also like to state (again) that I am a big fan of the opposite sex and in fact, not gay (sorry gio) so if you yourself are a female and interested, feel free to say hi.

| Played A Backyard Gig |

Well we ended up playing a backyard gig on Saturday at Jesus's house on Stacy ST. in El Centro. We played with The Vomit Squad and GHCHS but we didnt end up seeing GHCHS play since we arrived at 7pm. Well I thought we sounded good but we could have sound way better but we were having problems with the equipment and with the fucking Heat!!!! The stage area was fuckin Hot as HEll, i felt like throwing up after we finshed are set. Well Everyone got to meet are new singer PAT and i think everyone liked him. Man was it crowded when we were playing. I Kept bumping into PAT and Julio while we were playing and i got tangled up in the wires while playing "Bipolar" which is one of our songs that will be on our EP that should be out by the end of July. Well are set was like this "Sinic Intro", "Black Roses and Tears of Blood","Days of the Pheniox", "Apnea", "You", and "Bipolar" Well keep checking back cuz there is some big plans for this band in the very near future so this is gio saying Goodbye till next time

well everyone knows U.P as four sexy hot guys..well.. there has been a change in the line up..well not much of a change but..yeah..well anyways we got a new singer..he's a really cool guy. he actually responded to the add..so yeah he tried out ..showed us his stuff..then we showed him our stuff..so we played some cover's to see how he sounds...it was damn cool..so yeah the following week he made lyrics to one of our songs that was never finished..
so yeah it went smooth..we nearly finished the song in one day..but jason had to leave early..DAMN YOU'S JASON...DAMN YOU'S TO HELL!!!!j/k yeah so after jason leaves..we just mess around and play some cover's..well yeah..the singer's name is pat and he's ..DAN DAN DAN...A WHITE FUCKER...yes he's white..calm down calm down..he has a rad voice..and some fuckin sweet ass lyrics..this EP will blow people away...EC has a new band to look up to...oh and we might change our name!!still debating..oh well until next time...this is

They practice and pretty much that's all they do...they didn't get to play in calexico cuz they're losers...j/k cuz the cops got there...oh well...maybe next time. hey..this is luis here, just wanted to update the site from were we left off. Well so far all we have done is party throughout the spring break. We haven't practiced in a while cause of julio's dad's leg. If you guys haven't heard he broke his leg. Yeah so we haven't got down to finishing the last song to make that EP. I for one think this EP will turn out to be very good. We have played a couple of shows but not big ones. Well at the moment we are doin nothin just chillin..well i hope we can get back to the studio and finish our music..well till next time.

Alright its Tuesday April 8th and I realized we haven't wrote in the Live Journal in a while, so let me update you on all the Underprivileged News. Well we have played some shows since are last update and we are working on new songs. Which will hopefully be on a "EP" very very soon.
Alright......
The Southwest Show during lunch was much fun. We started kinda late but we didn't care much if we were on time so it was all cool. We played for a long time and some of us got sun burned. oh well. We had many people tell us good things about our performance which was cool and jason gave away two drumsticks signed to some people, which was also cool. We had some fun packing up as well because we were just messing around afterwords. So basically it was a good performence and it was a good day at school since we didn't have to go to class.
Later on that day...
After playing during southwest lunch we headed home and waited till 7pm. When the clock hit 7pm "WE ALL"(band members and friends) headed down to Calexico were we played a backyard gig with The Comrads and other great bands from Calexico. The Show was great except for the fight that broke out and that my guitar kinda broke. There was great mosh pits and some old faces that i was happy to see. So basically it was a good show.

Underprivileged will be performing on Friday March, 28th during both First and Second Lunch at the Southwest High School outdoor Auditorium. So if you go to Southwest make sure you don't ditch that day.
Theres some good news for anyone that has been wanting to go to a show but hasn't gone to one cause there hasn't really been any.
Well to let you know our new band-aid Jazmin (she's not on the Band-Aid section of the website yet but she will be as soon as Julio gets off his lazy ass and decides to update the website)will be putting on a free show with maybe six bands in Imperial. The Date for the Free Backyard Gig is April 5th. We will let you know all the details to the show as soon as we get it.

Well we want to say Happy Late Valentines to everyone that goes to our shows and supports the band. A very big HAPPY VALENTINES hug to MARIZA, JAZMIN, and KARLA.
Well the Valentines pageant was way to much drama for the band.
1. We were missing equipment so we were runing around trying to get everything before we had to get on stage which was only 10 min away.
2. Luis aka Chino decides to go backstage before we needed to and the stage crew people decides to kick him out. Luis try's to explain but the people wont listen so he decides to tell them fuck off and curses at them more.
3. The people decide to not let us play so Julio and I (Gio) go over and talk some sense into the people and they eventually let us play if Luis decides to calm down.
4. So we get on stage and set up all fast with the help of our crew/friends and they tell us that we can only play one song and we were WHAT THE FUCK ONLY ONE SONG? So we decide to play one of our own songs that is like 5 min. long and we went all out on stage.
That was the Mr. Valentines pageant. To much fuck-in Drama
After-wards we went to hamburger stand and took a huge crowd with us, it was a big o scene in there. We got hooked up with tons of hamburgers for free from Claudia who was working there at the time (thanks Claudia for the free food!!!!)We met tons of people and made new friends.
After eating and and making a scene in hamburger stand we took our equipment to Melissa Chavez's House and played with Disturbing The Peace (thanks melissa for letting us play at your house)There was all kinds of people there and once again we met tons of people and made new friends. After a while of people rocking out, laughing, talking, making-out, fighting, and busting out quickies (wink*wink*) we all headed to Louie's house and we all packed up our cars with Friends, Fans, Girls and more Girls. We hanged out at Louie's house till 3am.

There is going to be a backyard gig tonight for free at a house on a street called Stacy ST. its were Hollywood Video and Big 5 is at. Theres going to be probably three or four bands playing. So go and have some fun!

We will be playing on February 14 in the Mr. Valentine pageant at the Southwest Theater. It starts at 5:30pm and admission is $5. So please go and support the band and the Southwest Drill Team....who hooked us up to play the pageant.
We will also hopefully put on a backyard gig on Sat. with 4 bands.....so check back for more info.
